Personal Cask – Ex-Bourbon is a 200-litre capacity oak cask that has been handcrafted in the USA.

PLEASE NOTE – THIS PURCHASE IS FOR THE 5% NON-REFUNDABLE DEPOSIT ON A CASK OF WHISKY AS DETAILED BELOW.

Ex-Bourbon essentially means that this cask has been used to age and mature bourbon whiskey.

Due to it having a previous use to age a spirit, the ex-bourbon barrel has a much softer effect on new make whiskey spirit.  With the bourbon from its previous use, taking out a lot of the stronger, woodier flavours, the ex-bourbon barrel can be used for a much longer maturation period than a brand new, virgin oak cask.

An ex-bourbon cask should be chosen for an intended longer maturation time (5 years) and could be used as a primary ageing cask, before choosing a second cask for a cask finish.

The full price for this Personal Cask Ex-Bourbon is HK$67500 (approximately ¥60’100).  The 5% deposit for this cask is HK$3375 (approximately ¥3007) which is the price listed below.
