Personal Cask – Virgin Oak is a 200-litre capacity oak cask that has been handcrafted in the USA.

Virgin Oak essentially means that this cask has never been used for anything before.  Maturation in virgin casks imparts more oak and extra vanilla sweetness to whiskies.

Very few whiskies on in the world (outside of the whole bourbon thing) are ever matured completely in Virgin Oak.  It is often used as a finishing cask or as a way to mature a whisky much faster to create a NAS product.  3 or 4 years in virgin oak can give a whisky the colour and nose of a 12 or more year ex-sherry barrel.

A Virgin Oak Cask should be chosen for an intended short maturation time (3 to 5 years) and for whisky lovers that prefer a wooded, coconut and vanilla style whisky.

The full price for this Personal Cask – Virgin Oak is HK$78500 (approximately ¥70’000).  The 5% deposit for this cask is HK$3925 (approximately ¥3500) which is the price listed below.
